On the 7th of January 2020, my wife and I arrived in New Zealand with three young children, a few suitcases, and a heart full of hope. We didn’t know what lay ahead – only that we were seeking a safer, kinder place to raise our family and a community where we could contribute meaningfully.
Last night (8th July 2025), surrounded by our children and new friends, we became citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand.
I cannot fully describe the emotion of that moment – pride, humility, and deep gratitude all rolled into one. This land has given us more than just a new beginning. It has given us peace, purpose, and a profound sense of belonging.
As a dermatologist, it’s been a privilege to serve the people of this beautiful region – and as a father, nothing means more than seeing my children thrive in a place that feels like home in every way.
To Hastings, to New Zealand – thank you. For your warmth, your welcome, and for letting us call this place home.
We will never take it for granted.
